This digital story embraces the coping
process in which I took after the passing of my grandfather.
I believe that this digital story can
be used to provide support for others. The loss of a loved on or someone close
to you is difficult at any age and all of us grieve differently. Some people
find death and loss a hard subject to talk about and, or, explain. When in most
cases, talking and explaining the emotions that one is feeling can be the best
coping mechanism. A digital story is a great way to portray the emotions felt
with a loved one’s death without having to feel as if one is in a therapy
session. We all hurt, we all love, and we all grieve... each in our own way.
The best thing about this story is how it showcases your taking pain and turning it into strength. I am so sorry for your loss.

There’s not much I’d change-you might drop it into MovieMaker so you can add some music and editing effects.
Another good thing about this story is that it can help others who are struggling with grief see that things get better.
This is a great story! Your focus is stated right at the beginning and is readressed at the end. Your dramatic question is asked and answered throughout the story, and there is a definite emotional dimension with the changes after your grandfather got sick to when you lost him. The length of your story is good, an your audio is clear. The only thing I would change is that I (personally) would not use VoiceThread. I know a lot of people like it, but the clicks between each slide drive me crazy. (Please understand that this did not take anything away from your story, which is wonderful.)
ReplyDeleteBeing a coach, I love your story because it shows the value a team can play in one's life. Another good thing about your story is that it may help others who have also experienced loss. The only thing I would change is that I would not use VoiceThread, but overall I love your story!
ReplyDeleteIt's very unique that you chose to use VoiceThread to create your digital story. I can relate to a lot of what you had to say, also, and I thought that you did a great job in telling it. Joining a sports team is a great way to cope with your loss, and I'm glad to hear you got so much out of it!
